Though born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joe considers himself a Texan. When he was only two years old, his family moved to Texarkana, where he grew up with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, he served five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, managing a family practice clinic in the hospital at the Naval Air Station-Memphis.
Upon moving back to Texas, Joe began a career in real estate, selling new homes for one of the largest builders in Austin. After eight years in new home sales and as a real estate broker, Joe decided to pursue the mortgage side of the business. Today, with more than 30 years as a mortgage banker, Joe has built a reputation based on integrity, dedication, and customer service. He has been awarded the Five Star Mortgage Professional designation for 13 years.
Joe has a diverse range of interests including rowing, birding, astronomy, and live music. He has two sons: Damon, founder of Nomad Sound in Austin, and Raymond, who is a physician at Capital ENT in Austin.
